Arbutus
Arbutus (Arbutus unedo, Ericaceae)
English: arbutus, strawberry tree
Ibicencan: arbocer
French: arbre à fraises, arbousier
Swedish: smultronträd
This tree is a native to the Mediterranean macchia. The fruits ripen one year after the flowering, so they are on the trees together with the new flowers.
The fruits are edible but they can ferment on the trees. The leaves and the bark are used in teas against inflammations of the urinary system and against diarrhaea.
