Pot marigold
Pot Marigold (Calendula officinalis, Asteraceae)
French: souci officinale
The pot marigold has been introduced from Egypt, however field marigolds are quite common on Ibiza. The marigold flowers all year round.
A tea from the flowers has a spasmolytic effect and increases the bile production. Calendula cream is used to heal wounds, burns and eczemas. Example for a recipe: boil the fresh flowers in olive oil for twenty minutes, then take the flowers out and mix 80% of oil with 20% of beeswax.
