This close relative of the quinoa is very frequent on Ibiza and in other parts of Europe. It grows on fields as a weed.
The leaves can be cooked as a vegetable similar to the related spinach. In great quantity they have laxative properties.
The seeds can be used like those of the quinoa as a pseudocereal. They are rich in vitamin A, potassium and calcium.
