Vegetables
Vegetables is a name for different parts of plants that are eaten, often some fruits are included, mainly of annual plants (but not the cereals and pseudocereals). They are eaten for their taste and nowadays also for their vitamins and other constituents that can have effects against certain diseases.
Examples are: prickly pear cactus, garlic, asparagus, fennel, purslane, nettle, bladder campion, maize, white goosefoot and perhaps aloe, in the Andes coca.
