Vitamin C

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is an essential substance which we humans must take in with our food (whereas some other mammals can produce it themselves). Lack of this vitamin leads to scurvy.

It is not advisable to take vitamin C as a food supplement or as a juice enrichened with vitamin C, better in natural form so that it can be resorbed and the body does not get used to astronomic amounts.

Many plants contain considerable amounts of vitamin C, among them: lemon, orange, physalisnasturtiumrocket and white wall-rocket.
